PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication system that can acquire information even when the speech channels between base stations and a public exchange station are busy and where a caller can one-sidedly inform a possessor of a mobile information terminal moved into a service area about information such as advertisement and guidance. SOLUTION: A repeater 11 in this mobile communication system is provided with a means that relays all control and speech channels sent/received between radio base stations 131-13n and a public exchange station 12, a means 112 that stores are character information specific to a radio area, and a means 113 that adds a display information element with the area character information superposed thereon to a message sent from the public exchange station 12 to a mobile station in a sequence that any of mobile stations 141-14n that moves into the radio area of a radio base station executes with the public exchange station. When the mobile station makes position registration to the base station, the system allows a display section of the mobile station to display the area character information.
