PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system to make illumination by guiding the light emitted by a light source part through a photo-guide rod, capable of giving a high illuminating efficiency and easily accomplishing illumination with the desired hue (spectral characteristic). SOLUTION: This lighting system is composed of a light source 21 to emit light for illumination and a guide rod 22 to introduce from one end the light given by the light source 21 and guides to the other end, wherein the element of the light source 21 consists of a discharge bulb 207. It is possible to generate a desired hue without reducing the light energy uselessly owing the spectral characteristic of the discharge bulb 207, which leads to heightening of the illumination efficiency and elimination of the problem on the heat emission or space of installation, and a lighting system capable of exerting an illumination effect as desired can be established. |
