PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press-contact terminal metal fitting in which there is no danger that a core wire is damaged when the core wire is inserted into a press-contact portion. SOLUTION: An electric wire press-fitting groove 6 for allowing an electric wire 2 to be inserted thereinto is formed at a press-contact portion 5. A cutout 9 enlarged toward an inlet and a contact 10 continuous from the cutout 9 to a depth portion are disposed at both edges 7 of the electric wire press-fitting groove 6. A lightening portion 11 is opened sideways of the electric wire press- fitting groove 6 at the press-contact portion 5. When the electric wire 2 is inserted into the electric wire press-fitting groove 6, the width of the electric wire press-fitting groove 6 can be elastically deformed in the groove width enlarging direction.
