System and method of data compression and non-linear sampling for implantable and battery-powered devices

The system has a clock signal generator which generates a sample clock signal at a predetermined clock rate. An analogue signal is sampled during generation of the sample clock signal by a sampling unit to generate a digital data. A holder holds each sampled value of analogue signal. A threshold unit generates a differential threshold signal showing the difference of held sample value whenever sampling of analogue signal is performed. It is judged whether the difference of held sample value whenever each sample clock signal is transmitted, is more than threshold value. A sample taking-in approval unit transmits a sample taking-in enable signal if the difference of held sample value is more than threshold value. The sampling unit is enabled to perform sampling of analogue signal whenever sample clock signal is sent out, only when sample taking-in enable signal is transmitted. The sampling is performed at non-linear sampling rate.
