PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply adjust a relative gap length between a recording head and a platen in accordance with a thickness of a recording paper without requiring skills. SOLUTION: A plurality of thin plates 14 are layered in parallel to a recording paper transfer face. Moreover, an aggregate 15 of thin plates individually rotatably supported to the periphery of a shaft 16 orthogonal to faces of the thin plates, a movable in 19 which can approach or separate from a surface 18 of the thin plate rotated when a side part 17 of a recording paper 8 transferred on the recording paper transfer face passes the aggregate part, and a gap adjustment control part 21 are provided, whereby a carriage 2 moved to a position of the movable pin is brought close to the platen by a carriage movement-driving part, and stopped at a position where the movable pin hits the surface of the rotated thin plate, thereby adjusting a relative gap length.
