PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fluorinated triazine compound capable of imparting water repellency and oil repellency and excellent softness to a textile without substantially changing the surface appearance of the textile and capable of sustaining their effects after repeated washing with water or solvent. SOLUTION: The fluorinated triazine compound expressed by formulas I or II [Z is -SO2-, -CO or the like; Y is -O-, -S- or the like]; Rf is a (per) fluoropolyether chain comprising a repeating unit selected from a 1-30C fluoroalkyl, a -(CF(CF3)-CF2O)- or the like; X is Cl or the like] is obtained. The compound of formulas I or II is obtained by reacting alcohol of formula III with 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine of formula IV, preferably under the presence of a hydrochloride acceptor such as tetrahydrofuran or the like. The compound of formulas I or II is preferably used 0.1-20 wt.% of the gross weight of the textile. |
