Disclosed is a drying apparatus which employs a new hot wind circulation method in which both an upstream type and a downstream type can be used with one circulation fan, and reduces maintenance costs of the drying apparatus using a heat pump cheaper than electricity as a main energy source while secondarily using electrical energy, and functions as a low temperature storage by reversely driving the heat pump as well. The drying apparatus according to the present invention includes: a drying chamber in which articles-to-be-dried are stored; a hot wind passage communicated with a lower portion of the drying chamber; a housing installed to be communicated with an upper portion of the drying chamber and an upper portion of the hot wind passage; a blowing fan installed at a front side of the housing; a front chamber and a rear chamber formed at front and rear sides of an interior of the housing, respectively; a central chamber formed at a central portion of the housing to be opened only toward the rear chamber and having an electric heater in the interior thereof, for heating wind supplied from the blowing fan; and an opening/closing plate installed in the rear chamber and the front chamber, for opening the rear chamber and the front chamber only to one of left and right sides. A heat exchange coil is installed on a wall body of the drying chamber, and the heat exchange coil may be used as a compressor of the heat pump including a compressor, a condenser, a compulsory compressor, and an evaporator. |
