PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of the support for a planographic printing plate, in which an efficient processing is made possible even when a low temperature processing liquid is employed so as not to exert a bad influence upon a processing tank or the like. SOLUTION: In an etching processing tank 211, a temperature adjusting roller 230 for controlling a temperature is provided. Within the temperature adjusting roller 230, a fluid such as a hot water, a cold water, vapor or the like can be introduced so as to allow to control the surface temperature of the temperature adjusting roller 230 through the introduction of the fluid. By conveying an aluminum plate 10 under the state that the rear surface of its processing surface is heated through its winding around the temperature adjusting roller 230 and spraying a processing liquid against the aluminum plate 10 through sprays 203, the surface of the aluminum plate 10 is etched.
