PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preserving an animal neat food capable of solving the problem of a foreign matter feeling found in a small bag-like deoxidizer, further preventing both oxidation of oils and fats of an animal meat food caused by insufficiency of gas substitution in a low-temperature preservation and insufficiency of oxygen absorption performances of a deoxidizing multi-layer body and change in color. SOLUTION: An animal meal food is stored in a packaging container composed of a part or the whole of a deoxidizing multi-layer body comprising, in the order from the inside of the packaging container, a sealant layer made of at least an oxygen-permeable thermoplastic resin, an oxygen absorption layer composed of an oxygen-absorbing resin composition obtained by formulating the oxygen-permeable thermoplastic resin with a deoxidizer composition and a gas-barrier layer constituted of a gal-barrier substance. The packaging container is subjected to nitrogen gas substitution with a nitrogen gas so as to make an oxygen concentration in the packaging container lower than 0.5%, hermetically sealed and preserved at <=15 deg.C. Consequently the interior of the packaging container can be preserved in an oxygen-free state for a long period of Lime and the animal meat can be stored for a long period of time.
