PURPOSE: A displaying method for kind of a disk is provided to display kind of an optical disk on a front panel through reading a TOC area of a rewrite optical disk. CONSTITUTION: A TOC area of an optical disk is detected. Then, a point value in the TOC area is checked for detecting information in a first track and a last track. In case the information is audio data, reading of the TOC(Table Of Content) area is completed for displaying an audio CD on an optical disk driver panel. In case of the information is audio and image data, kind of information recorded on a first track is detected. In case the data is image data an enhanced CD is displayed on the driver panel. In case of a last data is the image data, a CD+ is displayed on the driver panel.
