PURPOSE: A composition for mouth cleansing in the form of powder or paste is provided, which enhances dental caries-prevention effect and scaling effect of toothpaste; relieves or cures gums disease by pharmaceutical activity(inhibition of bacteria, treatment of inflammation) of cetylpyridinium chloride. CONSTITUTION: A process for the preparation of composition for mouth cleansing in the form of powder or paste comprises of: pulverizing cetylpyridinium chloride 8g, bentonite 950g, sodium chloride 37g, calcium monohydrogen phosphate 5g, and menthol 2g in separate ball-mill to get fine particle of about 600mesh; mixing each powder together evenly to get the powdered composition; adding more than one of binders selected from xanthin gum, karaginan, sodium carboxymethylcellulose(0.1-10wt.%); adding anionic surfactant 0.1-3wt.%; adding more than one of moisturizer selected from glycerin, sorbitol, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol(20-50wt.%) to get the paste type composition.
