APPARATUS FOR SEARCHING LOCATION OF MOBILE STATION

PURPOSE: An apparatus for searching a location of a mobile station is provided to detect the location of a mobile station based upon calculating the distance from a base station and to the mobile station by using RTD (Round Trip Delay) and a smart antenna including information as to the direction. CONSTITUTION: A main lobe and a side lobe from a smart antenna (10) are generated toward two directions in which a mobile station moves. A receiving signal of the smart antenna (10) from those two directions is displayed as vector values. A signal processor (20) processes the receiving signal, and then calculates a vector signal which generates the main lobe toward the mobile station. A channel element (40) calculates RTD (Round Trip Delay) based upon values storing the receiving signal and the vector signal. A directional information detector (50) interprets directional information as to the mobile station and transmits the information to a location information detector (60). The location information detector (60) interprets the information on the basis of the distance and the direction. Therefore, the location of the mobile station from a base station is accurately detected.
