METHOD FOR COMPRESSING IMAGE DATA BY USE OF STANDARD BLOCK

PURPOSE: A method for compressing video data using a standard block is provided to improve the efficiency of compression in a compressing and encoding process by setting up a standard block similar to a mean value of a current block. CONSTITUTION: Input video data are blocked in one frame unit(300). A difference between a current input block and a previous input block is obtained(310). A block similar to the current block is set up as a standard block when the difference between the current block the blocked current video data and the previous block exceeds a predetermined value(308). A difference between the current block and the standard block is obtained(310). A process for compressing and encoding the current block is performed when the difference does not exceed the predetermined value(314).
