PURPOSE: A method and a device are provided to reduce a construction period and accomplish an improved safety of a bridge allowing maintenance and repair work to be performed with ease. CONSTITUTION: In a lead rubber bearing(B) having a stacked rubber(3) consisting of a stiffer iron sheet and a rubber(2), and upper and lower support plates(5,6) at top and bottom of the bearing, the stacked rubber having at an interior thereof a lead inserted therein, a movement restriction device(10) comprises a metallic plate(11) fixed to upper and lower plates by a bolt(12) and which has at upper and lower portions thereof a plurality of bolt holes(14) so as to prevent upper and lower plates of the lead rubber bearing from being dislocated by a shear force applied to the upper and lower support plates of the lead rubber bearing during an incremental launching process, the metallic plate having at an inner surface thereof a stepped portion(16) contacting the inner surface of upper and lower support plates.
