PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for manufacturing a slide fastener stringer, wherein strong fixing is made to a fastener tape in a fastener element portion, and shape-stable knitting-in is carried out. SOLUTION: A fastener tape T is knitted, and simultaneously sequential knitting-in is carried out along its one side edge part. A locking means 11 is disposed before the knitting of the tape T as the forming portion of each element portion E, the locking means 11 is sequentially locked in element portions to be formed, and thereby the movement of the element portion to a side opposite the tape knitting direction caused by the tension of its forming time is prevented.
