PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain suitable damping force without using electronic equipment such as a sensor, an actuator, a controller, or the like. SOLUTION: A pressure chamber 53 of a damping force adjusting mechanism 49 provided on a damping force adjusting-type hydraulic shock absorber 3 and an air chamber 7 of an air spring are connected to communicate with each other by a conduit 57. A free piston 51 is moved according to pressure of the air chamber 7, and a spool 46 is moved to switch damping force. Normally, damping force on the extending side and the contracting side are made soft. When pressure of the air chamber 7 is high, damping force on the extending side and the contracting side are respectively made hard and soft. When pressure of the air chamber 7 is low, damping force on the extending side and the contracting side are respectively made soft and hard. Therefore, damping force approximate to damping force control based on the skyhook theory can be obtained, input from unsprung side is reduced, vibration of the sprung side is damped, and riding comfort and steering stability can be improved. |
