PURPOSE: To easily and surely fix and hold a light source and a reflecting plate in an appropriate position toward a light guiding plate so as to provide a back light device having excellent optical performance. CONSTITUTION: An engaging projection Ga formed in a grommet (supporting member) G in each lamp (light source) L and an engaging hole 11a formed in each reflecting plate 11 are engaged with each other, so that each lamp L and each reflecting plate 11 are integrated together. Both end parts of the reflecting plate 11 are nipped between chassis 6a, 6b and a light guiding plate 3 so as to be fixed in the light guiding plate 3, so that the lamp L and the reflecting plate 11 are integrally fixed in the light guiding plate 3. In this structure, the lamp L and the reflecting plate 11 are easily and surely integrated together only by engaging the engaging projection Ga with the engaging hole 11a. In this way, the light source L and the reflecting plate 11 are easily and surely fixed and held in an appropriate position toward the light guiding plate 3, so that target optical performance can be exhibited, and no luminance unevenness is generated. |
