PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent soot lumps formed by being piled from being exhausted, together with an exhaust gas, when an engine is accelerated and in racing by preventing the soot in the exhaust gas from sticking to the wall faces of exhaust gas passages. SOLUTION: Heating bodies are arranged in wall faces, whose temperature is lower than the temperature of the exhaust gas passing through exhaust passages 10, 15, 20, 22, 25 and 26 from among the wall faces of these passages, and the wall faces of the exhaust passages 10, 15, 20, 22, 25 and 26 are heated, so that the temperature of these faces becomes higher than the temperature of the exhaust gas to give heat repulsive force to the soot in the exhaust gas from the wall faces of the exhaust passages 10, 15, 20, 22, 25 and 26. In addition, the electric potential of soot in the exhaust gas is detected or soot in the exhaust gas is made to charge with electricity, and the exhaust gas passages are made to charge with electricity so as to have electric potential of the same polarity as that of the soot in the exhaust gas, and electrostatic repulsive force is given to the soot in the exhaust gas from the wall faces of the exhaust gas passages which was made to charge with electricity.
