PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automotive reinforcing member capable of reducing costs and weight by reducing the number of part items constituting a frame member so as to simplify a structure. SOLUTION: A blank material 11 made of one sheet metal cut into a specified shape is bent by press-forming, and formed to be a closed sectional shape where a sectional shape is changed along a longitudinal direction, and a skeleton member 11 is formed as a joined portion 11d by abutting both side edges 11g and 11g of a bent width direction on each other. The sectional area of the skeleton member 11 is increased according to the size of the section of each portion, and strength is increased. This skeleton member 11 is used as a part of the side sill, the center pillar or the side roof rail of the automobile.
