PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize an image printing condition by setting a guide body to an image-printing head and improving a density irregularity or the like because of an uneven hit against a card. SOLUTION: An image is thermally transferred to a card 2 by applying image information to an image-printing head 33 with pressing the image-printing head 33 via an ink ribbon 36 in contact with the card 2 transferred on a platen roller 26. A guide body 97 of a nearly equal height to a projecting heating unit 33A is set to the image-printing head 33 to be adjacent to the projecting heating unit 33A. The card 2 transferred onto the platen roller 26 is printed while being supported by two points of the projecting heating unit 33A and the guide body 97. Since the image-printing head 33 stably hits the card 2 even at the side of a leading end part of the card 2 owing to the action of the guide body 97, an image printing density irregularity caused by an irregularity in the hitting or the like can be greatly improved. Printing at the side of a rear end part of the card is similarly improved.
