PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic device where developer residual quantity can be detected at a high precision. SOLUTION: In this image forming device, a electrophotographic photoreceptor, a developer carrier 501, a developer container containing toner (developer), a stirring member to stir the toner, an electrode member 407 where a pair of electrodes are formed while being installed to be orthogonal to or in parallel to the developer carrier 501 inside the developer container, a developing bias circuit (developing bias impressing means) 401 connected to the developer carrier 501 to impress developing bias on one of the pair of electrodes 407, a detection means where electrostatic capacity between the pair of electrodes 407 is detected, a toner residual quantity detection circuit (electrostatic capacity detection means) 504 detecting any variation in the electrostatic charge quantity between the pair of electrodes 407 when the toner is stirred by the stirring member and a calculating means (CPU) calculating the residual toner quantity based on a detected value by the toner residual quantity detection circuit 504 are provided. In this case, the calculating means is constituted so that the residual toner quantity is calculated based on a maximum value or a minimum value of the detected value by the toner residual quantity detection circuit 504. |
