PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a silver halide emulsion superior in monodispersibility and stably controlled in aspect ratio and remarkably improved in sensitivity and graininess and fog and to provide a silver halide emulsion and a silver halide color photographic sensitive material each prepared by this preparation method. SOLUTION: The silver halide emulsion contains silver halide grains and a dispersion medium and a variation coefficient of these total silver halide grain diameters contained in the emulsion is <=25%, and flat silver halide grains having an aspect ratio of >=5 occupy >=50% of the projection areas of the total silver halide grains, and plural pH control processes are carried out by rush addition of an acid solution in each stage of nuclei formation and nuclei ripening and crystal growth in this preparation of the silver halide emulsion.
