PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus improved in convenience by exactly reporting the telephone number of a caller. SOLUTION: When a caller telephone number '090356×××××' is received, portable telephone equipment 1 displays that caller telephone number on a display 4 and outputs electronic tone signals (sounds of '0', '9', '0', '3', '5', '6'...) corresponding to respective numbers as the components of the caller telephone number from a speaker 8. Even when the back light of the display 4 is broken, the portable telephone equipment 1 is housed in a bag or caller telephone number is not registered in a memory dial, a user identifies the electronic tone signals outputted from the speaker 8 so as to exactly recognize the telephone number of the caller.
