PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an antenna system for portable radio unit to be housed in a housing and obtain a high gain. SOLUTION: This antenna system acts like a 2-step stack antenna where a linear antenna 1b and a cylindrical antenna 3 are connected via a phase matching circuit 2b in the case of an extracted state to attain a high antenna gain. In the case of a contained state, the linear antenna 1b is moved through the cylindrical antenna 3 in the phase matching circuit 2b, the cylindrical antenna 3 is moved toward the inside of an enclosure 8 at the same time so as to minimize an antenna jumped part from the inside of the enclosure 8.
