PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the necessity of alignment for aligning guide shafts with the direction of an optical axis so as to facilitate assembly of a lens barrel by forming support holes integrally with the lens barrel for supporting both ends of each guide shaft in a lens support structure in which the lens holding frame of a lens positioned within the lens barrel is guided by the guide shafts in the direction of the optical axis. SOLUTION: Front supports 32, 36 and rear supports 34, 38 for supporting a guide shaft 18 and a guide shaft 22, respectively, in front of and behind an upper opening 10A and a lower opening 10B in a lens barrel 10, are formed integrally with the lens barrel 10. To assemble the lens barrel 10, a lens holding frame 14 is inserted therein from the upper opening 10A, after which the guide shafts 18, 22 are inserted from behind holes 34A, 38A in the rear supports 34, 38, with the ends of the guide shafts 18, 22 secured to the front supports 32, 36. Alignment of the guide shafts 18, 22 is thus unnecessary.
