摘要 |
PURPOSE: A method for driving AC-type plasma display panel is provided to give a margin in an insertion timing between discharge maintenance pulses by sequentially scanning address time slots in each group and applying these groups to addressing/sustaining simultaneous driving method, and prevents a frequency rising and a voltage rising of discharge maintenance pulse. CONSTITUTION: A period between discharge maintenance pulse applied to Y-electrode and a discharge maintenance pulse applied to X-electrode maintains a uniform barrier charge and a space charge characteristic. A phase difference below 180 deg is present in the discharge maintenance pulse applied to Y-electrode and a discharge maintenance pulse applied to X-electrode. Many discharge maintenance pulses are collected as one group, thereby ensuring a time margin. Address pocket having many data pulse is set in the time margin. Each address pocket data is allocated to a pocket of each sub-field. Thereby, a time margin is given in an insertion timing between discharge maintenance pulses. |
