The apparatus includes a device whose spatial alignment is variable, and whose spatial alignment defines a plane of given spatial alignment such that the spatial alignment of a sectional image is defined within a three-dimensional object. The device pref. includes a flat protrusion which defines the plane. The device may be a plate. The device may be the display device of the apparatus, e.g. a liquid crystal display screen.
