<p>A method for detecting a mutation in a gene encoding the reverse transcriptase active center of hepatitis B virus, in particular, a mutation in the YMDD motif; a primer set to be used in this method; and a kit including this primer set and a probe set. This method comprising amplifying by the PCR method a part of the gene sequence encoding the reverse transcriptase active center of hepatitis B virus seemingly having a mutation by using a set of primers of SEQ ID NOS: 1 and 2; then hybridizing the amplification product with each of probes of a probe mixture or a probe set containing the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 3 or 23; incorporating a labeled substrate by the mini-sequence method; and then detecting the labeled substrate to thereby detect the occurrence of the mutation in the reverse transcriptase active center of hepatitis B virus.</p> |
