PURPOSE: An adapter assembly is provided to achieve an improved durability and clarifying ability of a catalytic converter by suppressing flow of exhaust gas within the catalytic converter. CONSTITUTION: An adapter assembly for allowing an air to be smoothly inlet/outlet to/from a catalytic converter of automobile, the adapter assembly having a near-cone shape and being constituted by an inner-cone(41) and an outer-cone(42) having front end portions(e) for gas inlet/outlet bonded to each other, the front ends being gradually separated as it proceeds toward an interior of a case(32), and an insulator(40) inserted between the inner and outer cones, wherein the inner and outer cones have a stepped portion(43) formed by cutting away a front end of the inner cone at a junction area(a'), and the cut surface(44) of the stepped portion and the front end of the outer cone being fixed to each other to obtain a maximized sealing.
