THERMALLY INSULATING AND HEAT INSULATING CONTAINER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally insulating and heat insulating container for food which lessens combustion energy when incinerated as waste, is free of environmental pollution problems, is disposable as general refuse and may be recovered as scrap paper. SOLUTION: This container consists of a paper container 1 and a thermally insulating and heat insulating sheet 2 disposed like a sleeve on the outer peripheral surface of this container. The thermally insulating and heat insulating sheet 2 consists of a paper base material 2a and a water-soluble polymer resin foamed layer 2b which is affixed to one surface of this base material 2 and has an expansion magnification of <=3 times and a thickness of >=1 mm. At least part of the water-soluble polymer resin foamed layer 2b of this sheet 2 and the outer peripheral surface of the paper container l are in tight contact with each other.
