PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage weight measuring device for a garbage collector capable of accurately and easily measuring the weight of garbage and superior in durability. SOLUTION: When garbage G is transferred to a hopper 30, an hydraulic cylinder 43 is elongated to isolate a hopper upwardly from load cells 51, 52 with the operation of parallel links 41, 42, so that impact caused in transferring the garbage G is transmitted directly to a supporting arm 13 via the parallel links 41, 42 to eliminate loading on the load cells 51, 52. In measuring the weight of the garbage G the hydraulic cylinder 43 is contracted and the hopper 30 is placed on the load cells 51, 52 for static measurement of the weight of the garbage G. In this way, not only the breakage of the load cells 51, 52 is prevented and their durability is increased but also the use of the load cells 51, 52 having high precision and sensitivity is allowed.
