PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare with high productivity a plate processing roll for photogravure printing with excellent workability and handling properties by suppressing chatter vibration when such processings as shaping, cutting and grinding are applied on a thinned roll. SOLUTION: After flanges 20 are bonded on the inner part of both ends of a roll main body 10 made of an aluminum, an expandable bag 40 is inserted in the roll main body 10 and a gas G, a liq. or a granulated body is filled in the bag 40 and under a condition where the bag 40 is pressed on the inner peripheral face 13 of the roll main body 10, the outer peripheral face 12 of the roll main body 10 and/or the outer side faces 22 of the flanges are shaped, cut or ground. Instead of the bag 40 filled with the gas G, the liq. or the granulated body, an elastic spiral body being brought into contact with the inner peripheral face 13 of the roll main body 10 and a plurality of rod-like bodies and net-like bodies being fitted on the inner peripheral face 13 of the roll main body 10 can be used. By bringing the bag 40 into contact with the inner peripheral face 13 of the roll main body 10 like this, chatter vibration can be suppressed even by rotating the roll main body 10 at high speed. |
