PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production by which a porous silicon carbide sintered compact excellent in thermal conductivity can surely be obtained. SOLUTION: A silicon carbide powder is used as a raw material to prepare granules in a granulating step. In a press forming step practiced subsequently thereto, the resultant granules are used to prepare a formed compact of a prescribed shape. At this time, a prescribed amount of a substance capable of improving the slipperiness of the mutual granules is preadded to the granules. In a baking step porformed subsequently to the press forming step, the formed compact is heated and sintered. As a result, a porous silicon carbide sintered compact 5 having a high thermal conductivity is produced. |
