PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat elevation device for a chair for haircutting and cosmetic treatment which can shift to a stable high position for short-bodied children, and can shift to a position where the rear can be lifted so that bending can be easily conducted in the front shampoo of an adult, and in addition, can also shift to a position where a seating posture becomes a comfortable state by lowering only a rear seat from a horizontal state of the seat. SOLUTION: This device comprises a seat base plate 1 which moves almost vertically, a first and a second links 5 and 7, in which one ends are pivotally supported by the seat base plate, move almost in parallel, a drive source 6 like a hydraulic cylinder for rotating the first link using the shaft fulcrum as a fulcrum, a rear seat 8 in which tips of the first and second links are pivotally supported, and a front seat 9 in which one end is pivotally supported to the rear seat and another end is pivotally supported by the seat base plate 1. This device is also provided with a roller 92 which moves on a guide rail mounted on the front seat and formed in the first link, and prevents the shaft fulcrum of the rear seat and the front seat from shifting downward.
