The present invention provides a recording material comprising a substrate, a heat-sensitive layer formed on the substrate by a coating liquid containing (1) microcapsules containing a colorless or light-colored electron-donative dye precursor and (2) a dispersion of solids comprising color developers, and a protective layer formed on the heat-sensitive layer, wherein the dispersion of solids comprising color developers is a dispersion prepared by co-dispersing at least three color developers including at least one solid color developer, preferably a water-soluble color developer, in the form of solid particles and at least one amorphous color developer together with a water-soluble polymer, and wherein the solid particles of the color developers contained in the dispersion have particle diameters in the range of from 0.3 to 0.5 mu m and the haze of the heat-sensitive recording material is 55% or less.
