摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an element from being deteriorated due to heat generation of a transparent electrode of an organic electroluminescent element. SOLUTION: In this organic electroluminescent element having a transparent electrode 20, an organic layer 14 containing a luminous layer and a metal electrode 16 at least on a transparent substrate 10, an auxiliary electrode 22 electrically connected to the transparent electrode 20 and formed of highly conductive metal thin film is further provided. When an opening will be disposed on the auxiliary electrode 22 so as to sufficiently emit light from an element to outside, various patterns can be applied. This auxiliary electrode 22 can reduce the Joule heat generated by carrying high current through the transparent electrode 20 utilizing a high-resistant transparent conductive material and element characteristics can be prevented from being deteriorated due to heat. When a highly conductive material will be used as the auxiliary electrode 22, the auxiliary electrode 22 can be provided with a function for radiating heat. In addition, the auxiliary electrode can be applied to a micro-light resonating organic electroluminescent element provided with a dielectric mirror.</p>
