An automatic milker for a cow includes teat cups 16 which are attached to the cow's teats for milking and a second set of cups 20 having a larger diameter than the teat cups and which have a different function such as for cleaning and/or disinfecting the teats, for foremilking or for stimulating the teats. The operations of the milker can be controlled by switches or by a computer.
