Zipper strip for reclosable package, one strip has compression members to prevent crushing in FFS machine

A zipper strip for a reclosable package includes male and female members 46, 48. One of the strips includes compression members 64 which extend from the strip towards the other strip. The strips may be attached to a thermoplastic film prior to forming the package in a Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) machine. The compression members prevent the interlocking male and female profiles being crushed by heat and pressure from the sealing bars in the FFS machine
