PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience at the changing of setting and at the monitoring of a system by an operator who maintains and inspects a multiple dwelling house interphone device. SOLUTION: In this interphone device, data for rewriting the setting data of a variety of the functions of a management room master unit 1, a central entrance unit 2, a plurality of living room master units 3a, 3b, 3c,... and a controller stored in the function setting memory 10 of the controller 4 or (and) an operation program stored in the program memory 11 of the controller and the data for executing system state monitoring for maintaining and inspecting the multiple dwelling house interphone device monitored by the system state monitoring part 12 of a control part are transmitted and received with the control part 17 through a telephone line L1 and the modem 13 of the controller.
