PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a consecutive warning object state over a warning time from being discriminated in mistake in a state monitor method that monitors whether or not a monitor object device is in a warning object state continuously over the warning time. SOLUTION: A state transition detection means 11 writes state transition information including a time and a state after transition to a state transition recording storage section 12 every time the state transition takes place in a monitor object device 1-1. A state transition inquiry means 31 gives an inquiry to the monitor object device 1-1 at a prescribed inquiry interval, and a reply means 13 in response to it extracts newest state transition information from the state transition recording storage section 12 and transmits the information to a state monitor 2. A condition discrimination means 32 discriminates whether or not the state of the monitor object device 1-1 is in a warning object state consecutively over a warning time on the basis of this inquiry time and the newest state transition information sent from the monitor object device 1-1.
