The invention relates to a level probe device for a powder container for use in a powder spray-coating device. The inventive level probe device comprises an inductive proximity probe (22) and a membrane (28) that consists of electrically non-conductive material. Said membrane can be reciprocated in the direction of the proximity sensor and is provided with a metal element (32) that is attached to the inner side of the membrane that faces the proximity sensor. Said membrane consists of a metal that influences the magnetic properties of the proximity sensor. The function of the inventive device remains unaffected by any powder particles adhering to it.
