The invention relates to a fluids manipulation device comprising a substrate (20) having a first surface (21) and a second surface (23). A plurality of fluid inlets (28), preferably media reservoirs, followi ng a first pattern is formed on the first surface (21) of the substrate (20). A plurality of fluid outlets, preferably nozzles, following a second pattern differing from the first pattern is formed on the second surface (23) of the substrate (20). A plurality of fluid lines (26) formed o n the substrate (20) for connecting the fluid inlets (28) to the corresponding fluid outlets (14) is provided so that format conversion is effected from the fluid inlets to the fluid outlets.
