<p>A recorded information reader, wherein a control circuit (31) detects the relative position of an objective lens (5) before a tracking actuator and a thread motor (8) are operated to break a servo-loop for following up a track, moves the objective lens to its elastically neutral position based on the detection result before a pickup (2) is moved according to a track crossing control, and moves, when the pickup starts to move, the objective lens temporarily in the direction in which the pickup move, thereby easily preventing a free vibration of the objective lens that would otherwise be caused by an elastic restoring force and an inertia force that act on the objective lens when the servo-loop is broken.</p> |
