The invention relates to a method and a system for transferring data from a computer system (1) to an outputting device (7), especially for transferring printing data to a printer. A master document (35) is produced and several supplementary documents (36a, 36b, 36c) are logically linked to said master document (35). The data belonging to the supplementary documents (36a, 36b, 36c) are separated from the data belonging to the master document (35) and sent to the outputting device (7) where they are stored. In the outputting device (7), the data belonging to the master document (35) are re-linked to the data belonging to the supplementary documents (36a, 36b, 36c) in order to output a single document. |
