PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a moxa cauterization by a patient himself by forming a supplementary utensil main body into a plate-shape, providing holes to be filled with moxa, at one location or a plurality of locations, and providing one or a plurality of ventilation ports around the holes. SOLUTION: A supplementary utensil body 1 is formed into a flat plate-shape of a fire-retardant wood or a flame-resistant synthetic resin. Then, a hole 2 to be filled with moxa is drilled at one location or a plurality of locations. By providing one or a plurality of ventilation ports 3 around the holes 2 air is fed to the moxa filled in the holes 2, and the utensil is constituted in such a manner that the moxa may be completely burned. The ventilation ports 3 communicate with the holes 2 by a cutting, or the hole and the ventilation port 3 are integrally formed by punching. Thus, by filling moxa into the hoel 2 to be used, igniting fire, and pressing the moxa to a desired location by gripping one section of the supplementary utensil body 1, a moxa cauterization can be performed by a patient himself.
