PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bird broodiness inhibitor which can exhibit a sufficient broodiness-inhibiting effect for birds such as poultry and turkey and scarcely damages the birds by adding caffeine as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This bird broodiness inhibitor contains as an active ingredient caffeine which may preferably be used in the form of coffee such as instant coffee. The inhibitor is preferably prepared together with a vehicle into solid preparations or together with a diluent into capsules. The inhibitor is preferably orally administered. For example, the inhibitor is administered at a dose of preferably 3-10 g, more preferably 5-8 g, per tablet solidified with a vehicle for a chicken having a body weight of about 1.2 kg once a day in a usual broodiness degree, when coffee is used as a caffeine-containing substance.
