PURPOSE: A method for producing cycloolefin polymers is provided. CONSTITUTION: An invention relates to a method for producing a cycloolefin copolymer by polymerization of 0.1-99.9 wt %, with respect to the total amount of monomers, of at least one polycyclic olefin, 0-99.9 wt %, with respect to the total amount of monomers, of at least one monocyclic olefin, and 0.1 - 99.9 wt %, with respect to the total amount of monomers, of at least one acyclic 1-olefin, in the presence of a catalyst system consisting of at least one cocatalyst and at least one metallocene.
