PURPOSE: A lighting device for vehicle is provided to control a suitable light distribution in a running state of a vehicle by changing the combinations of illumination ranges provided by a plurality of lamps according to a running direction or a steering angle of a vehicle as well as a vehicle speed and then controlling an illumination directions and ranges. CONSTITUTION: A lighting device for vehicle(1) is constituted to specify the turn-on or turn-off of a plurality of lamps(2_i, i=1, 2, 3,...) mounted in the front side of a vehicle and to control the overall illumination ranges. Therefore, the lighting device includes a running direction detection device(3) for detecting a vehicle running direction or a steering angle, a vehicle speed detection device(4) for detecting the vehicle speed, and an illumination control device(5). The illumination control device(5) turns on or off a plurality of lamps in accordance with the signals detected from the detection devices(3, 4), thereby changing the combinations of the illumination ranges of individual lamps and then controlling a light distribution to a front and a lateral directions of the vehicle.
