PURPOSE: A method for allocating enhanced channel between multi carriers in spread spectrum communication system is provided to add a flexibility when allocating a carrier to a subscriber by determining a certain threshold value based on a related communication parameter. CONSTITUTION: If a subscriber requests an access to a communication system through a first carrier, a base station subsystem receives the access request of the subscriber through the first carrier(S10). The base station subsystem measures a first loading level of an access start carrier to be operated within a first frequency spectrum and be serviced to a first geographic region(S12). The base station subsystem measures a second loading level of a transferee-candidate carrier for servicing a second geographic region within a second frequency spectrum(S14). The base station subsystem determines as to whether the first loading level is less than the second loading level(S16). A base station controller prevents an intra carrier hand-off when the first loading level is less than the second loading level(S18). The base station subsystem determines as to whether a difference between first and second loading levels is less than a certain threshold value when the first loading level is more than the second loading level(S20). A call start carrier is selected by a subscriber service when the difference between first and second loading levels is less than the certain threshold value(S22). The base station controller selects the transferee-candidate carrier and permits the intra carrier hand-off when the difference between first and second loading levels is more than the certain threshold value(S24).
