PURPOSE: A reel body with the shape of round, has low contour to high-grade appearance and fishing rod, maintains intensity, and reduces thickness and weight of union part(connecting member(12b) and setting part of fishing rod(4)). CONSTITUTION: Reel body(1) of double bearing reel to support revolvable spool around the axis of rotation and stick to fishing rod comprises a pair of side plates(10)(11) with the shape of round to have semidiameter R1 and to be formed by cutting work around the first center axis(O1) being free the axis of rotation; plural connecting member(12a)(12b) is separated by mutual to be situated the spool between the side plates(10)(11), is bound to the side plates(10)(11) firmly; setting part(4) of fishing rod is formed in one body with one part of plural connecting member(12a)(12b) is extended to vertical direction to the axis of rotation generally; one outer surface(12c) of plural connecting member(12a)(12b) has radial outer surface formed with the shape of arched by cutting work, has center located the shape of arched on second center axis(O2) and semidiameter R2.
